Everyday Message Board

I've created an

Everyday Message Board

for my kitchen command center.  It works great for me as I have to be able to see, at a glance, what is going on in my life.  I actually DO have a life planner too {but in all honesty... I use it for my blogging life. More info on my life planner binder coming soon!} This message board helps me keep track of my everyday life.

The best thing about this project is that I didn't spend any money on it! I had the materials on hand and with a little creative thinking, a ton of hot-glue and some TLC, this is what I came up with:

As this message board is in my kitchen, I didn't want  it to be too "officey' looking. So I made the board myself to have the items that I wanted on it and to give it the look I wanted.

The first thing I did was cover the board in fabric, exactly the way I did my craft room board.

I made some fabric flowers from black material and more flowers from leftover scraps from my craft room board.

A very important piece is my monthly calendar. I created & printed these on cardstock paper.  This is where I write everything from appointments to birthdays, etc.

I also created a week at a glance page {available as a FREE PRINTABLE for you to print at the bottom of this post.}  I've laminated my page and I write in what I need to do under the days of the week with a dry erase marker. At the beginning of the following week, I simply wipe it off & start again! I have LOVED this part of the message board. I hot-glued black material behind it.

I made a little pocket out of fabric and hot glued it onto the board to hold note cards & my marker.

I hot-glued more black material & a binder clip to the board and laminated a blank piece of paper to write messages, etc. {using a dry erase marker to write the messages.}

In the upper left corner of the board I have a place for a photo.  The black damasks are cut using my cricut & then rolled through my sticker maker {they're paper.}  The little diamond Rhinestones are actually for scrapbooking - I've found them at craft warehouse in the dollar section. I use these for a lot of different things.

 and that, my dear readers, is my everyday message board.
