Christmas Cut-Out Cookie Recipe

Hi all!

The other day I shared 4 of our 5  family favorite "Christmas Time" cookies

and the recipes. Just so you all know... Being in the kitchen is not my favorite place to be!  So no judging ok?  I'd much rather be organizing, creating or painting something.  So, like I said, don't judge!! My frosting on these cookies are not professional at all.

The Christmas Cut-Out cookies are our all time favorite at this time of the year.  They are so very yummy and these ones don't last too long around my house.

And here's the recipe for you:

Christmas Cutout Cookies
cream together:
2 c. softened butter
3c. powdered sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla

mix and add to above ing.
5 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
roll, cut out into shapes - bake 400 for 5-8 min.
frosting:
4 c powdered sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
6-8 Tbsp. water (more or less as needed)
food coloring

Be sure to cool the cookies, then make your frosting, separate into bowls and use food coloring to create different colors, frost and decorate them as desired.

Even though I typically use the frosting that's on the recipe above. I didn't use that frosting recipe on these cookies.

I used this frosting recipe this year:

4 c. powdered sugar

1/3 c. softened butter

1 tsp. almond extract or vanilla extract

4-5 TBSP. milk (add more as needed)

food coloring
