Fixer Upper - The Outside

I have always dreamt of getting a “fixer upper.” One with good bones, but just needed a little tlc. This was the perfect place for that.

There’s a long story behind this place, but we ended up renting it and fixing it up for our landlord, in hopes that we would be able to buy it in the end. Things didn’t turn out the way we had hoped and, even though it didn’t turn out the way we had planned, the results of cleaning this place up and being able to live here for a little over a year was worth it.

We loved living here. Our oldest son was able to live in the apartment on the property, which was a great way for him to “move out” without moving too far away. We had great neighbors. It was on 5 gorgeous acres with beautiful mountain views. We made a lot of awesome memories here.

We moved out of this house last January.

I was planning on sharing these before and afters here on the blog a long time ago, but life got busy and here I am sharing it now, months after we’ve moved out.

Today, I’m sharing the outside photos. I’ll share the inside before and after photos in another post.

Here it is:

Beautiful home, right? The beauty was hidden behind fallen trees, blackberry bushes, weeds, moss, mold, dirt, grime and so much more. This place had been unoccupied and not taken care of for many years.

I wanted to bring this place back to it’s beauty when we found it like this:.

It was a beautiful home that had just been neglected for so many years. We did a ton of work to improve this place and to bring it back to life.

Here are the after photos:

and here are the before and after photos, side by side:

Pretty amazing what a little TLC can do for a home, don’t you think?

Come back soon to see the before and after photos of the inside of this house. I’ll share those soon.

May you be a little inspired.

Until Next Time,

DaNita
